For over 13 years I have taught yoga and meditation classes that are planned with the intention to guide students to feel and sense their body, move in a way that is respectful of their experience and inspire an inner friendliness.
I am a trained Insight Yoga teacher with Sarah Powers, who blends yoga and meditation with an exploration of the human spirit. My initial training was from the Chicago Yoga Center, where I was trained in Hatha Yoga. For over 10 years, I have studied meditation with Jennifer Welwood, who integrates Western-style psychology with spiritual practice.
Currently, my study is focused on the Internal Family Systems model, a therapeutic approach for self-leadership and inner peace. I also study Trauma Informed Yoga and Yoga Therapy to support people who experience chronic stress, anxiety, trauma and depression.
My husband and I are blessed with two children, Patrick and Julia. In my free time, I write a monthly blog about my contemplations as a woman and mother. I also organize local events focused on child development, parenting, health and education. Before owning the Beverly Yoga Center, I worked in the nonprofit sector and travelled to Africa delivering 50,000 pairs of shoes to children in villages across Kenya.
