CLASS DESCRIPTIONS

CANDLELIGHT classes incorporate slow and mindful movements that lead you into a relaxed and peaceful state of being. This is a slow, meditative, and calm practice. Perfect for anyone wishing to slow down, restore and nurture. All levels welcome.  Classes are 75 minutes.

FLOW classes are a sequence of continuous moving postures that stretch and strengthen the body.  There is an emphasis on breathing to promote deep relaxation that will restore and re-energize the body.  Prior yoga experience is recommended. Classes are 75 minutes.

HATHA yoga classes focus on symmetry and alignment, using props — such as straps, blankets, and blocks — to achieve postures.   These classes bring balance, strength and calmness to mind and body.  All levels welcome.  Classes are 75-90 minutes.

HOT YOGA classes will warm, stretch, strengthen, and detoxify the body with a heated studio at 85 degrees.  Prior yoga experience is recommended.  Classes are 75 minutes.  Classes are offered October-April.  



HOT SLOW FLOW classes give time to ease your body into postures, build strength, and calm the body with a final resting pose in a heated studio at 80 degrees. These classes are based on Vinyasa yoga that connects a flowing series of poses to the breath creating a connection between mind and body. Classes are 75 minutes. Classes are offered October-April.

BEGINNING MEDITATION class focuses on the basic principles of calming the mind, heart and body.  The class explores different types of meditation practices and includes some restorative poses to help relax the mind.  Reiki energy healing will be integrated during some of the poses. No experience necessary and all levels are welcome. Class is 60 minutes.

BEGINNERS YOGA is perfect for those who have never taken yoga, who need a refresher, or for those who simply want to return to the basics. This slower paced class focuses on the basic yoga poses, breathing techniques, and proper alignment. No experience is necessary and all levels are welcome. INTRODUCTION TO YOGA is a four-week session that provides a solid foundation in the essential yoga poses.  Each session builds on the previous week's class.

LITTLE YOGI classes are a natural way for children to exercise, relax, and focus the mind-body connection through postures, breathing exercises, and relaxation.

RELAXATION FOR KIDS is a nurturing class for kids, ages 7 and up, interested in learning meditation techniques, restorative yoga and Reiki for stress relief. The class includes simple relaxing meditation practices, restorative yoga poses, soothing breathing techniques, restorative Reiki, and practical tools kids can use to relieve stress, relax and unwind. No experience necessary.
 
POWER yoga classes build overall strength, endurance, and flexibility through a series of challenging poses and sequences.  You will detoxify, oxygenate, and rejuvenate your body as well as enhance your core strength.  2 years of prior yoga experience is required.  Classes are 60 minutes.

PRENATAL classes help prepare mom’s-to-be for the birth of their baby and work to alleviate pregnancy-related discomforts through gentle, modified yoga poses and breathing exercises. Classes are 60 minutes. 


 
RELAXATION classes nourish, energize, and restore the mind and body.  Classes include stretches, breathing, and relaxation.  All levels welcome.   Classes are 75 minutes.

THERAPEUTIC
Yoga classes are for those recovering from, or living with, injury or illness. It blends restorative yoga (supported postures), gentle yoga, and relaxation techniques with effective stretching to help students regain range of motion, increase flexibility, and deepen relaxation.  
 
VINYASA (vin-ya-sa) classes are a steady flow of connected yoga postures linked with the breath in a continuous movement, gradually warming, stretching and strengthening the entire body.  Classes will combine sun salutations, standing poses, floor poses, backbends, inversions, and sitting meditation.  Prior yoga experience is recommended.  Classes are 90 minutes.
