Katie approaches each person with the belief that the body is born with tremendous self-healing potential, and that healing comes from within. Therefore, she creates a safe environment for people to discover their bodies and their heart’s deepest longing. She also believes that yoga has the power to transform health and lives, one breath at a time. She guides students mindfully through intelligent physical alignment and breath & body awareness in her classes. She incorporates a wide variety of techniques in her classes and sessions, including mindful movement, breath work, mudras, chanting, aromatherapy, guided meditation and relaxation and hands on adjustments.
She is currently a Yoga Therapist in-Training, studying in a rigorous 800 hour teacher training through Inner Peace Yoga Therapy. She is a graduate of The Soma Institute for Clinical Massage Therapy in Chicago and a certified Holistic Health Coach through the Integrative Institute for Nutrition in New York. She completed her 200 Hour Hatha Yoga Teacher Training at Reflections Yoga Center in Homewood, IL and her 500 Hour Advanced Teacher Training at Moksha Yoga Center in Chicago, IL. She is a certified Trauma Informed Yoga Instructor. She obtained her Reiki Master certification through Insight Awareness in Homewood, IL.
When she’s not working with clients, planning her classes and workshops or teaching yoga, you can find her outdoors! She grew up in Maine and could spend every day outside. She loves to hike with her hubby and two dogs, camp, swim, soak up the sun, cook, explore different yoga and meditation classes with friends, read and write with a cup of coffee or tea or catch a movie.
